My girlfriend clearly knows me well as one of the presents she got for Christmas is a book of unusual words and their definitions. It aims to give you superior word power to the other idiots who will then be bamboozled by your erudition. I am calling you all idiots here. ALL OF YOU!
My favourite new word and one that I intend to use many times in the coming year is "mammiferous" which means having breasts. Strictly speaking this applies to all mammals male and female, but it is obviously more fun to use about female humans than anything else. And use it in a quantative way that is not exactly how it is intended to be used.
I was able to put it into good effect whilst watching "Footloose" late at night. "The female lead is pretty, but she is not particularly mammiferous," I commented to my girlfriend, who I could see was already regretting purchasing this gift.
But she couldn't argue with me. Because I was right.
